Well, I'm back after a hiatis from my blog. Those summer shows kept me hopping. For Chicago Artist Month I will be painting at Midway Airport on Oct, 3rd and O'Hare Airport on Oct. 17th. The program consists of a single artist painting while a band play. I did it last year and it was a blast. I really enjoyed it. I'm also participating in the "Fall into the Arts," show at Illinois Wesleyan University's in Bloomington, IL on October 4th.
I'm still putting a lot of time and energy into my fused glass jewelry. It's so relaxing to make because my designs are simple but the nature of the glass gives the jewelry the look and feel of elegance. I exhibited it at the Park Forest (IL) art fair in September and it was very well received.
I designed the cover for a book of poetry for a client which resparked my interest in poetry. I started writing in the 1990's. So far I have 14 poems that I like well enough to be published. One day I plan to publish an illustrated book of poetry. No rush, though. I refuse to be stressed in my retirement.
